Initially established as an engineering company for software and plant commissioning, two years later the first Siemens S5 products were launched. Today employing 85 people the company serves its worldwide customers through a network of sales offices and distributors. Assembly and inspection takes place at the company headquarters in Großenseebach, Germany. ProfiNet to CANopen Gateway

The Helmholz PN/CAN gateway makes the connection of CAN devices on to a ProfiNet network very straightforward. It supports transfer rates up to 100Mbps full duplex, and up to 1Mbps on the CAN bus. The I/O data of the CAN participants is transparently displayed in a freely configurable manner on the PROFINET network and can be processed directly in the PLC. Features include MRP (media redundancy), extensive diagnostic functions and online diagnostics interface. The PN/CAN gateway is a CANopen master therefore supports gateway network management, SYNC telegrams and node guarding/heartbeat for monitoring the participants and LSS services. Up to 16 PDOs can be configured for each CANopen® slave. It is also possible to configure the CANopen participants using SDO frames and to administer emergency messages.
